John Henry Moxon enlisted on the 23rd February 1915 in Raywood, Victoria. He was employed as a farmer, and stated his next of kin as his wife, Signa Moxon, of Dringer, Victoria, and later of 18, Dalgety Street, St. Kilda, Victoria. He had previously served as Lieutenant in the Officers Training Corps, Derbyshire, 1909 – 1911, and as a Sergeant in D Troop, 17th Australian Light Horse. Six feet tall, he weighed 161 pounds, had a fair complexion, blue eyes and fair hair, and belonged to the Church of England.
